About WheelSpinnerNow

WheelSpinnerNow is a small set of randomizer tools that run entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no waiting — you type a list, spin, and get a result nobody can argue with.

Why it exists

Most decisions that get handed to chance are small ones: who presents first, which pupil answers, where the team eats, who takes the last shift. They are not worth a long discussion, but they do need to feel fair, and a visible draw settles them in a way a person choosing never quite does.

The randomizers already on the web mostly worked, but they were slow, cluttered with adverts, or wanted an account before they would shuffle eight names. WheelSpinnerNow was built to do that job immediately, on any device, and to stay out of the way.

Who builds it

WheelSpinnerNow is made and maintained by one person, not a company or a team. There is no investor behind it and no plan to sell it. The tools are free to use and you are never asked to register.

That also means feedback goes straight to the person who can act on it. Bug reports and feature requests are read and answered individually.

How the guides are written and checked

The explanations on this site are written for WheelSpinnerNow rather than copied or automatically assembled from other pages. Each guide is checked against the behavior of the live tool, with worked examples where they make a rule easier to verify.

Pages are reviewed when the related tool changes. Material releases are recorded in the changelog, and factual corrections are welcome through the contact address. Promotional claims are kept separate from the technical explanation of how a result is produced.

How the randomness works

Every draw uses the Web Crypto random number generator built into your browser, not the ordinary Math.random. That generator is designed for cryptographic use, so its output is not predictable from previous results.

Mapping a random number onto a list can quietly introduce bias if it is done carelessly, because the range rarely divides evenly. We avoid that with rejection sampling: values that would fall in the uneven remainder are discarded and drawn again, so every entry keeps exactly the same chance. Shuffles use the Fisher-Yates algorithm driven by the same generator.

Weights are the one deliberate exception. Writing an entry as Prize A | 3 makes that option three times as likely and gives it a larger slice, because you asked for it. Entries without a weight stay at 1.

How it is built

The site is a static one: pages are generated ahead of time and served as plain files, which is why they load quickly and keep working on a poor connection. There is no application server holding your lists, because there is nothing on our side to hold them.

Your entries, wheel settings and recent results live in your own browser storage. Clearing this site data in your browser removes all of it and resets the tools to their defaults.

What comes next

The tools change regularly, and every release is written up rather than shipped silently. If something you need is missing, saying so is the most reliable way to get it built.
